One would think that Vilnius is already pretty saturated with all types of restaurants for the size of the city. But then, this new kid on the block shows up, offering a rather novel concept, a modern-looking and health-conscious restaurant, Tummo. That’s not all, however. The new restaurant in Vilnius also taps into the latest wave of sauna culture revival that can be accessed with an annual membership.
It was a pleasant surprise that a new place like Tummo opened on Mindaugo Street 23C, just a minute away from the coffee temple, Brew. That part of the new town still needs some more places that would include experiences like shopping, activities, and food. However, seeing such spots popping up is definitely noted and well-received by the locals living in New Town.
As for Tummo itself, the menu was all a health-minded brunch lover could want. Imagine the shokupan bread-based matcha toast, probiotic granola, 36-hour-long cooked Umami broths, detox smoothies, and more. What did we order? Lebanese pancakes stuffed with apples and one of the tastiest avocado toasts, layered with a heavy gallop of cream-like cheese and specially-made bread. Despite being on the more expensive end, 15 euros, I’d say it’s definitely worth a try.
Spacious facilities and a Tibetan-infused atmosphere, together with stone and wood elements, make the minimalist interior memorable and inviting. Did I say they have a terrace? An ideal option for a warm summer evening for a session of bubbles or cocktails (or both). But that’s all for now; we don’t want to spoil it before you visit.
